among Summer Wood residents is a priority for Carney, who herself participates in
resident activities such as the bell ringers
group that performs throughout the community. Employees say they are proud to
call her their boss.
ALFA staff Member Hero: Kasey gobin,
director of dining services, emeritus at
south Windsor, CT, an emeritus senior
Living community. Gobin is praised by his
peers as a selfless leader who has transformed the community’s dining services
department into an integral part of overall resident care. In the interest of maximum nutrition and quality, he has taught
his staff to make various breads, pastries,
and desserts from scratch as well as how to
adapt intricate recipes to residents’ needs
and preferences.
ALFA caregiver Hero: Amparo Machuca,
reminiscence care manager, sunrise at
cinco Ranch, Katy, TX, a sunrise senior
Living community. Machuca immerses
herself in making each day a joyful one for
residents. From dressing up in festive costumes and taking fun photos of residents
to share with family members to carving
intricate fruit baskets and making special
ornaments during the holidays, Machuca
is an energizing inspiration to everyone at
the residence.
