debt crisis, and I think the American
people are ready to hear the truth of
what needs to be done to reverse our
current course.
If we start reforming these programs now, current seniors will not
have their lives or retirement needlessly disrupted. For people 54 and
below, we’re going to have to reform
these programs to make them sustainable—to secure the mission of health
and retirement security. With modest
adjustments in the retirement age,
means testing, in combination with
the other reforms I’m proposing, you
can wipe out the unfunded liabilities,
keep our government limited to about
20 percent of GDP.
The “Roadmap” also reforms the tax
code to make it more entrepreneurial
